Xoom - Independent review

All you need to know before sending money with Xoom

Xoom review by Monito

Xoom is a leading money transfer provider to send money from the United States to 56 countries around the world.

You can pay using your bank account, debit or credit card. Depending on the country you are sending money to, the money can be delivered as cash, deposited in a bank account, reload airtime, or pay utility bills (in 10 countries including Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Vietnam and the Philippines). Xoom was acquired by PayPal in 2015 and their services are now integrated. This means that if you already have a bank account linked to your PayPal account, you can use it to transfer money with Xoom.

If you regularly send money to the same people, Xoom’s “Quick Send” feature allows you to easily send money to an existing recipient in two easy steps. Thanks to Xoom’s mobile apps, available for Apple iOS and Google Android, it is also possible to send money on the go. Xoom’s customer service is available 24/7 in English and Spanish, and you will be kept informed of the status of your transfer with text updates or email notifications.

Xoom’s customers give the service a score of 7.3/10 on Trustpilot. While 80% of review give Xoom five stars, often praising the speed of the transactions, almost 10% of them had a bad experience and gave them only one star. Most of the negative comments concern transfers delayed due to compliance issues, or customers complaining about the hassle of sending documents to Xoom for compliance reasons. Xoom’s customer service answers all bad reviews on Trustpilot, trying to solve all issues promptly.
