Filed for a refund on my unused $35 money order. They denied me and sent me back a photocopy of someone else's money order because their incompetent employee typed in the wrong serial number. Now I have to go through the entire process again. They also screw you with an $18 fee.

Ich kann dieses Unternehmen nichtt empfehlen. Heute wurde mir die Auszahlung verweigert, da mein zweiter Vorname vom Absender nicht angegeben wurde. Ich verwende siesen zweiten Vornamen nie. Es wurde eine 2-Faktor Authentifizeriung durchgeführt. Transer-Kontrollnummer, Name des Empfängerd und Name des Absenders. Trotzdem wurde mir die Auszahlung verweigert, weil mein 2. Vorname vom Versender nicht angebenen wurde. Ich habe schon öfter Geld mit anderen Deinstleistern versendet, da war das nie ein Problem. Man kann es treiben und man kann es übertetreiben! Uns sind erhebliche Kosten dadurch entstanden.

I had the WORST possible experience. The time before this when I used Moneygram I was interrogated for 20 mins before they would release the money to my receiver. Mind you, I sent to that very same receiver before in that same City for the same purpose. THIS TIME IS THE LAST. I sent the money 2 days before my receiver was to pick the money up just so that if there were any issues I would know before he got there. MONEYGRAM TOOK THE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT AND SENT ME AN EMAIL THAT IT WAS READY FOR MY RECEIVER. That was SO not the case. I was told through my receiver to contact them and after almost 30 mins, I was finally given the lecture that it was for my protection and now my receiver could make the trip once more to pick the money up. Thought that was it? OH NO. The agent told him she was NOT COMFORTABLE GIVING MY MONEY TO MY RECEIVER WITH IDENTIFICATION AND CANCELLED THE TRANSACTION. As upset as I was , I almost ha a stroke when I called to get my money back and the Rep said "It will take 3 - 10 business days. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE SERVICE I HAVE EVER GOTTEN. Insults, after insults and disrespect on top of disrespect.

Hallo liebe Internet Gemeinschaft, ich möchte hier auch einmal meine Erfahrung mit MoneyGram teilen. MoneyGram habe ich mir speziell ausgesucht wegen der Sicherheit. Bei einer Transaktion muss der Empfänger die Referenznummer besitzen, damit er das Geld abholen kann. Das ist schön und gut aber die Realität ist komplett anders. Mein aller erster Transfer in die USA ging ohne Probleme. Jedoch bei dem zweiten kamen die Komplikationen und die waren gigantisch. Der Transfer wurde ohne einen relevanten Grund direkt storniert und mein MoneyGram Account wurde gesperrt. Eine Rückmeldung kam auch nicht wieso weshalb und warum das passiert ist! Bei einem Rückruf beim Deutschen Support versteht man ABSOLUT gar kein Wort, da dort nur Ausländer angestellt sind, die nur gebrochen Deutsch reden und alle komplett Inkompetent sind. Mit Inkompetenz mein ich, dass die nicht wissen, wie die Firma intern läuft. Daten, --->RECHTE der Kunden<---, & Hierarchie. Da wartet man über 10 min bis da mal eine Antwort kommt, die man einigermaßen versteht, nach gefühlt 10 Personen. Ganz geschweige dazu ob die Antwort auch stimmt, da dort jeder etwas anderes sagt bzw. behauptet. Hauptsache beim wichtigsten Teil (Kunden nähe) kosten sparen wo es geht. Das ist eine Sauerei! Beim Englischen Support Raum hatte ich mehr Erfolg (wenn man das so bezeichnen darf). Der Support meinte zu mir, dass man mir den Grund nicht nennen kann aus "Sicherheitsgründen" und sie mir das Geld zurück buchen würden auf das Konto jedoch OHNE die Gebühr. Sehr Toll Hauptsache 50€ einstecken. Auf die Frage wieso die Gebühr nicht auch noch übermittelt wird wurde ich abgewimmelt und das nicht nur bei einer Person. Ich beschwerte mich daraufhin per Mail. Dabei hatte ich auch kein Glück und ich bekam als Antwort nur diesen Satz "sie kennen bereits unsere Antwort". Welche Antwort? Dass ich jedes mal abgewimmelt werde und mir keiner den genauen Grund nennen kann? Entschuldigung für den verbalen Ausdruck aber was soll der Schei*? So etwas hab ich noch nie erlebt. Mir wäre das egal, wenn man mir wenigstens noch die Gebühr zugeschickt hätte. Aber nein das ist der Hauptgrund weshalb ich hier schreib und wahrscheinlich den Text 1x1 kopier und überall verbreite. Mir geht es nur noch gezielt darum, dass jeder weiß, was die mit Kunden machen. Das ist eine verdammte Sauerei! Ich rate davon komplett ab. Benutzt lieber WesternUnion, da die sich wenigstens um die Kunden kümmern und man die auch gescheit verstehen kann. Vielen dank für die Aufmerksamkeit und überlegt es euch genau, ob ihr MoneyGram nutzen möchtet.

Moneygram. Is NOT safe at ALL!!! To be a sender they take all the information from your id/passport. But from the receiver they only ask the name. And as I thought. My money was picked up by a person that was NOT the receiver. Moneygram promises you safety. Get your money from point A to point B without problem. And apart from that they make you pay so much for the transaction? Ok whatever. Let’s do it. I’m sending the money. I have the receiver information in hand so I can write it all down. And they just ask me for her name. I was confused. I thought that’s so dumb. A name? Anyone can have a name. But a location. A number. Not everyone has that. Well guess what. MY MONEY WAS STOLEN. When I visit moneygram to see if they can maybe help. Check by who was the money picked out. They tell to me to call customer service. Which SUCKS BALLS! They don’t listen to your problem. Ask stupid questions that don’t have anything to do. And don’t want to help you at all. Is like talking to an IT costumer service hotline “did you turn it off and on again?”, “OF COURSE TURNED IT OFF AND ON!!”. Anyways. Once I see they are not trying to help me see who stole my money. I visit another office. And without me even saying the problem. The worker says “oh yeah, someone must have used a fake Id and taken the money out. That happens all the time, there’s nothing we can do, the money is already gone”. When I hear this, I’m so surprised of the confidence in her voice that money is so often stolen from this company and they haven’t thought about a safer way to transfer money then just asking for someone’s name. Doesn’t make sense. DON’T USE MONEYGRAM. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY YOUR MONEY WILL BE SECURED BY THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY.

Moneygram was providing good (but expensive) service to me until awhile ago. A few days ago I got what looked to be a genuine email from them requesting me to re-register my Moneygram plus card, through which I have sent money abroad. The link on the email lead to nowhere. I went to the company website, and filled out a form that also went nowhere. I phoned Moneygram, and after a series of robots I got a human being, who didn't know what I was talking about, and who did not know what he was talking about, it seems. He said I could (still) use my card to send money. I asked if I needed to register. No, he said, because there is no Moneygram in service. I asked him how something could both not exist, and be used. He hung up on me. What is the corporate world coming to? Now when I next have to send money to someone, I will worry if the Moneygram system works, or not. I guess I will find out. And I will ignore any further stupid email from Moneygram.

Ich habe eine Zahlung aus dem Ausland für den Bargeldbezug in Schweizer Franken (CHF) über MoneyGram erhalten. Nun wollte ich das Geld in einer der auf der Webseite aufgelisteten Vertriebsstellen abholen, wovon es in meiner unmittelbaren Umgebung so einige gibt, jedoch war das nicht möglich, weil diese keine Auszahlungen durchführen, sondern nur Einzahlungen entgegen nehmen. In der Schweiz gibt es wohl viel mehr Ein- als Auszahlungsstellen. Habe dann bei der Hotline angerufen, die mir dann die Adresse einer Auszahlungsstelle genannt haben. Diese scheint es wohl leider nur in größeren Städten zu geben und die nächste für mich war in Zürich, ca. 30-45min Autofahrt für mich. Als ich hingefahren bin und endlich einen Parkplatz gefunden hatte, bin ich ein paar Mal die Adresse abgelaufen, aber die Vertriebsstelle gab es nicht mehr, nur einen dubiosen Friseur. Dann erneut Hotline kontaktiert, denen das mitgeteilt, was die sich im System notiert haben. Das zeigt für mich schon, da ist keinerlei Qualitätskontrolle oder Sicherheit über die Verkaufsstellen. Danach zwei weitere Adressen von der Hotline erhalten. Die erste hat auch keine Auszahlungen durchgeführt, die zweite dann zum Glück schon, jedoch nur zu bestimmten Öffnungszeiten die von den Angaben abweichen. Jedenfalls musste ich drei Mal nach Zürich fahren, bis ich das Geld dann hatte. Ich dachte schon ich sehe das Geld nicht mehr wieder. Die Auszahlungsstandorte sind die hinterletzten Spelunken. Kennt ihr die Läden wo sich draußen immer irgendwelche dubiose Gestalten vor dem Eingang tummeln? Da wo man nachts nicht alleine langgehen möchte.. Genau solche Läden waren das, wirklich nicht vertrauenserweckend für Geldzahlungen. In den Läden als auch an der Hotline habe ich auch nur kaum Deutsch sprechende Mitarbeiter gehabt. Zum Glück habe ich mein Geld erhalten, aber noch einmal werde ich MoneyGram nicht benutzen und definitiv nicht weiterempfehlen.

They done it again. Now sent from UBA bank in Ghana. Again it was rejected because the person who wanted to collect had an old type passport (valid untill 2019). They had to walk back home again as they did not have money for transportation. Far distance to walk. Moneygram should be closed down. In the Netherlands they already did (some 200+ agencies at post offices cancelled the contract with Moneygram leaving only the head office and one or two others open in the whole country) This is not a service. Its a waste of time and resouces.

At no point did the UK agent tell me that nearly all US locations will only give you a max of 500, and a cashiers check for the balance, which you can only pay into a US account in your name. Fat load of good if you are a foreign tourist. After spending 2 1/2 hours walking and cabbing around, and 2 customer service centre calls, and finally finding a location that had the money, we found out the money was blocked, as the sender (me) did not upload my ID and a photo to their online portal. After the 3rd customer services call -apparently, any amount sent, over 100 pounds, has to be verified with uploaded ID. Absolutely pathetic that the UK agent, in this case, the Post Office, did not state this. Am going back to the post office in the morning to pick up my money. And to concur with some other reviewers, one out of the 3 call centre staff was downright rude and patronising.

It made the Moneygram agent in Ghana reject the transfer and send it back. The people who came to collect did not have money to transport them back so they had to walk for hours to get back to their house

As soon as you pay the money to be sent to any post office, ask them to post Ombudsman that I call them on 0201203200 (customer service) here begins the hell!!!. you call there and get you choose between Swedish and English, press one for Swedish o two for English. I press 1 and wait about 10 min and answer them in English! Those who work there speak poor English and first o mainly they don't care! You say you want to talk Swedish instead but they are located on the handset. The second time I do the same thing with the wait time and then answers them by giving the reference number and what my name is and why should I send money and where I live o the big Street crosses my street I live in. .. and a bunch of stupid questions! And this in English even though I want to speak Swedish with some where! And after a while, so you may not know about it ok that they send money!!, they are located on the handset again!!! I call again and hands the same again from what I have for reference number, what I called, and so on with all the stupid questions, and so is the hang up again, or get the link me to any area with much idle time!! I was doing this one Friday. 15 to 20.! and the next day the same thing!! I decided to call the main office in Stockholm which asked me to call back to the customer service!! I refused and want them to refund my money! All this with the wasted time and energy in spite of all the complaints that I told the head office in Stockholm, they have even apologized, totally sick. I sent money via Ria that I got tips from an acquaintance and the money came fast o for sure, thanks for the Ria for the best service.

I SEND MONEY TO MY BROTHER OVER SEA AND THEY TOLD ME THEY ARE NOT IN POSITION TO SEND MY MONEY BUT THERE WAS NO REASON GIVEN. when I ASKED them FOR THE REFORM OF MY MONEY THEY PUT ME ON HOLD AND SWITCH OFF THE PHONE AFTER 30 minutes I KEEP CALLING UNTIL THEY WERE SATISFY BEFORE ANSWERING ME AND AT LAST GIVE ME A RECEIVING NUMBER. They cancelled my transaction for no reasons and give me back money send for my sister to go to a hospital and my sister passes away because there was no money to get her drugs. They are very wicked. If they continue this arrogant behavior MoneyGram will lose most of its customers. I have decided to never send money through them again.

Dishonest, no customer service, stay away from the terrible company. Will not all receiver to pick up because they claim she waited too long (24) hours. For a $15 transfer I paid $5 to complete. Now, I can not get refund, customer service can not speak English, and receiver is out of luck. Moneygram, you are crooks, plain and simple. I will never use your company again and I will spread the word how terrible you are.
